Alena Gisele Vanderlip

Suddenly, at home in Dobbinton, at the young age of 4. Alena, very much loved daughter of JanWillem and Marlie.  Beloved big sister of Daerd and Fenna.  Precious granddaughter of Gijsbert Vanderlip.  Alena’s big smile will be deeply missed by many close friends, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Alena was always eager to help others and be part of whatever was happening; in the kitchen; at the barn feeding baby goats and helping her little brother and sister with whatever was at hand. She especially loved being outdoors. Her cheerfulness and winning smile brightened the day for many people. Alena had a wonderful loving way with her younger brother and sister. She was energetic, imaginative, creative, quick to learn and would never give up.

We were such a happy family, we loved each other so much, but it wasn’t meant to be that way…

Alena, become our angel who watches over us, our brightest star in the sky. Until we all meet again. Nobody knows how much we are going to miss you. Daerd and Fenna lost their big sister and best friend. We had a really good time together, why couldn’t it stay that way. We will always think of you, Bye bye Alena, we love you
