JORY, Daniel Bryan 

Peacefully, with family by his side, on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound in his 65th year. Daniel Bryan Jory, of Port Elgin, beloved husband of Lois (nee McLean).  Loving Dad of Nathan and his wife Laura, Joshua and his wife Karianna, Nicholas and his wife Kristina, and Jessica and her fiancé William Park. Proud Poppa of Landon, Amelia, Caiden, Eloise, Colton, Evelyn, Charlie, and Henry. Beloved son of Don and the late Ila (nee Tilley). Dear brother of Gary and his wife Wendy, Lori and her husband Fred Bade, and Joanne and her husband John Felton.

Dan began his career with Ontario Hydro in 1978 at Douglas Point. Over the next 20 years he worked as a Professional Engineer as a Shift Supervisor, Training and Communications Superintendent, and Manager of Training and Business Support Services. In 2001, he began working with Hatch (Acres) on the Bruce 1 & 2 Restart and continued to provide Chief Nuclear Engineer support. In 2014 he became incorporated and provided Professional Services to Sargent Lundy and Bruce Power.

Dan had a passion for his family, fixing and building computers, cars – both as an enthusiast and fixing everyone’s cars, working with his hands constantly renovating his century old home, and avid reader.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 23rd, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 at 1:00pm at the SouthPort Pentecostal Church, Hwy 21 & 6 Carlisle Street, Southampton.

Memorial donations to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family in lieu of flowers of gifts.
