Dear Les and family, Our hearts and prayers go out to you all at the loss of Gertie. She was a great neighbour of my parents. Gertie certainly had a wonderful sense of colour and fabric choices when my Mom was trying to make a quilt. May God comfort you all. Renee (Carter) and Wayne Willson

Dear Les, Rosalia and ALL of Gertie's family and friends. Bob and I are thinking of everyone at this sad time and are sending our thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace. Gertie will be welcomed in the land of eternal rest where our Dear Lord, and family members gone before, will watch over her. Not sure if we can make it up to Port Elgin - we have an engagement in Oshawa on Saturday, a specialist doctor's appointment on Monday afternoon and a hospital procedure on Tuesday. Am also battling a most uncomfortable cold that I picked up on a flight from Saint John, NB to Montreal to Toronto on Wednesday. If it wasn't such a long drive each way from Toronto, we could attempt it. Thinking of everyone.

I was a daughter-in -law for a short time.
Roger & I visited with Gertrude in the fall of 2015, it was a surprise visit,,, and she was so happy to see us.

The family of Gertie Schmidt are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of loss. You all have our sympathy. Gertie will be remembered by her involvement in the jamming community with her unique style of music which I appreciated very much. She will be sadly missed at our jamborees.
