Mary Lillian Catharine (Walpole) Patterson

Formerly of Tara, passed away peacefully at the Southampton Care Centre with her family by her side on January 26th, 2018, in her 100th year.  Born on the 12th of Elderslie on March 31, 1918, daughter of the late Herbert and Kate (Reid) Walpole. She was predeceased by the long time love of her life, Fred Patterson (Aug.30,2013). Loving mother of Bonnie Patterson Collins and husband Wayne Collins of Bruce Twp., Lynn Cropp and partner Norman Griffett of Australia, Heather Gowanlock of Port Elgin and friend Ward Cox, and mother-in-law of Sharon Patterson of Southampton and friend Stan Tolton.  Gramma to Andrew (Naterly Huang) and Kelly Greig, Mike (Deb Sturdevant) and April Patterson (Jason Rahn), Dean and Adam Cropp, Luke (Kim Lam) and Courtney Gowanlock (Tren Mandawoub). Great Gramma to Sadie Rahn, Bina Huang-Greig, Fletcher Mandawoub and Allan Gowanlock. Predeceased by son David, son-in-law Gord Gowanlock, sisters Tena Goodfellow, Irma Thompson and brothers Bert and Pete Walpole. 

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222 from 12:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm with Rev. Lynn Workman officiating. Spring Interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara, Ontario.
