I am still shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. Bob was truly selfless in all endeavors at the Bruce Site. He was a tremendous friend, colleague, and advocate for fairness in the engineering group. He was always upbeat and positive, no matter the challenges that lie ahead. He was truly a role model and will be very deeply missed.

When the natural human inclination is to fill one's cup first, Bob swam in the opposite direction freely providing advice and help. I have never seen him sad, serious but never sad. I believe Bob was the eternal optimist who believed in what he did and the hope that goodness was there in other people.
Also he was brutally honest and told you whether you had a leg to stand on. I will miss him and the wise counsel.
To the Wells family God's blessings during this time.

Dear Liz and Family, I was saddened to read of Bob's passing.  I remember from years ago, with MYC, how supportive he was of you and your teaching, being a hands-on guy at the recitals, and looking out for the boys while you were busy conducting, etc.  Sometimes, during the winter, we would arrive home to find Bob clearing out our driveway with blade on his truck. Just the thoughtful type of guy he was.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bob worked in my Section. He was remembered for his inventiveness, a
" go to guy".

While at "Services" he decided the job needed a table saw, so he went and bought one, brought in to work and voila the job got done.  That was not the way work got done within Ontario Hydro, in particular the acquiring of tools and equipment.  Bob was reimbursed, and schooled in how acquire tools and services. He was also praised for a job well done.

My condolences to Bob's family.

Bob was a very compassionate person who cared deeply for his family. To say he touched the hearts of many would be an understatement. For those less fortunate than himself he truly made the world a better place to live in. His smile and friendly hello would brighten your day and he was a special person and friend to many people you may never know. His behind the scenes work with some people went unnoticed and that's how he wanted it. No special thank you was wanted or expected. Today, I send this special "THANK YOU" to Bob for being a friend and mentor in my life. He truly made a difference in the lives of many people who were fortunate enough to know him and he will be missed. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. God bless you and guide you through this difficult time.

Liz and family,

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing.

Bob was always there for me to offer advice and mentor me as a Society delegate whenever I needed help. I have known Bob since 2006, when I started at Bruce Power. He personally helped me resolve some issues through the years and encouraged me to get involved with the Union.

His devotion to the union would be hard to match. When I asked him a question, I would often get a detailed response that articulated every possible outcome and how to react. He seemed to have a library with all the answers.

As you may know, I recently served with him on the Society Audit Committee. During one of the trips to Toronto, I still remember telling Bob how I rarely took the subway. Without hesitation, he took me under his wing, gave me a personal tour of the Eglinton station and explained the ins and outs of the TTC. That was just the kind of person Bob was.

Bob was a friend and I will miss seeing at work and around town.  Although I often teased him about driving the old van around town, I admired the number of skills he had.  It seemed like he could fix anything and if he didn't have a part...he would make one! It sounded like he always had alot of projects on the go.

My deepest sympathy to your family. I will never forget Bob.

We have lost one of the great ones.

RIP Bob.

~Kevin

My condolences go to the Wells family (Liz, Scott, and Mark) for the untimely and sudden demise of my good friend, guide, and a philosopher -Bob Wells.

I first met Bob in 2009 when I joined Bruce Power. He made me the Engineering Steward (as he used to call us). I served in that role from 2009 to 2015.

Over the years, I had the privilege of working side by side with him, be it Society Membership Committee, Society Audit Committee, championing for new recruits to the union or PEO events.

He was helpful to anybody and everybody. Bobby (as I used to call him) did believe from the core of his heart in his union lifelong motto to be available 24*7 for union issues.  Last time I met Bobby in person was on Saturday (Oct 29, 2017) at his second home (his workshop). I spoke to him on Nov 1 around 4.10 PM. Who would have imagined he will pass away a few hours later.

The Society of Energy Professional has lost a true at heart unionist. He was the best society director I have ever seen.

For the past many years, every time I needed help with anything, I would call Bobby. Life will be very difficult to live without having Bobby around the Bruce County.

To the Wells Family, please don't ever hesitate to call or reach out to me if you need anything.

Rest in peace Bobby!

Total and utter shock! Bob was, and will remain larger than life itself. My heartfelt love and sympathy go out to Elizabeth and the family.
Bob and I were work colleagues, engineers that came up the hard way, fellow union officials, and for a time, adversaries, in the nicest possible way.
Above all else, he was my friend with a heart the size of porterhouse steak from the county he dearly loved.
I loved him, he was a rogue, a renegade, unpredictable, a fighter and staunch advocate for Bruce Power and the Society he served so well. A champion of the underdog, a joker when we were down. A small beacon of light that we all wish we can aspire to.
Society Dinners at Underwood will never be the same. I believe future such gatherings should be named the Bob Well's Dinner in his honour, and those bloody cowboy boots should be bronzed and stuck on the head table in tribute.
Wish I could be there to pay my respects, but flight is Tuesday.
Fly High Dear Friend, Fly Free!!!!

It is with a heavy heart that I hear of Bob’s passing.
I first met Bob in 2000 when I was part of the British Energy Transition Team and became a colleague and friend over the time I was at Bruce and long after I retired.
Bob’s sense of humour, love of all things Caterpillar and the application of “Bob’s logic” and “Field Intell” to solve problems together with his compassionate care for the well being of his colleagues made him both a formidable adversary but a straight forward person you could reach a deal. My sympathies to his family and close friends. I will miss him..!

With a very sad heart I write this message. To the wells family, please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of my good friend Bob.
Bob was a work colleague and a friend for the past 25 years. He will be fondly remembered as being a kind, helpful, humorous, easy going, loyal and passionate person. A very talented man who held four trade tickets while performing his role as a union activist and a professional engineer.
A true family man who adored his wife and two sons, he was also a good old boy who truly enjoyed helping others (available 24 x 7 was his motto). Anything broken, Bob could fix. He enjoyed band practise, rock and roll music, a few pops (strictly Coca-Cola) and Bruce County beef.
Thanks for all of the fond memories Bobbo.. We'll miss you and you'll always have a place in our hearts.
