Basil Fleming Eby Jr.

Passed away peacefully, with family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in his 81st year.  Basil, loving husband and best friend of Gladys (nee Masterson) for 58 years. Caring and supportive father of Todd and his wife Tammy, and Troy and his wife Wendy.  Special Grandpa of Seth and Logan. Dear brother of Barbara and her husband Don Betterly, Eleanor and her late husband Doug Smith, Barrie and his wife Anne, and brother-in-law of Geraldine and her husband Reg McArthur, Shirley Masterson and her husband the late Bill, Stella Masterson and her husband the late Harold (Fritz). Loved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Basil Sr. and Greta (nee Fleming), brothers-in-law Jack (Mary) Masterson, and Ron (Pearlina) Masterson, and sisters-in-law Bernice (Bernie) McDougall, Dorothy (Bill Weber), and Jean (Howard Gateman).

“WALLEBY” will be fondly remembered for his 54 years of barbering in Port Elgin, 60 years with the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 340, Port Elgin, and 35 years with the Lake Huron Fishing Club.

Friends will be received at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222 on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and at the Tolmie Memorial Presbyterian Church, 699 Goderich Street, Port Elgin on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 12:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm.

If so desired donations may be made to the Lake Huron Fishing Club, Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Tolmie Memorial Presbyterian Church.
