Charles “Chuck” Edward Dillon

Charles (Chuck) Edward Dillon of Port Elgin, born February 15, 1934, joined the love of his life (Marie) on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 after a brief illness. Loving Dad of three children - Peggy Vecchies (John), Sherry Smith (Mike) and Wayne (Nancy). Proud Grandpa of Shawn (Shanna Ireland), Kayley (Kenrick Miller), Mitchell, Katie, Sam and Ben and Great Grandpa to Aiden, Isla, Dalanie and Dalila. Dear friend and brother-in-law to Murray Aberle and his wife Darlene. We will all miss Dad’s easy going style and sense of humour!

Dad worked for BF Gooderich for more than 35 years and Mom and Dad retired to the cottage from Waterloo to Port Elgin and later moved to Faith Maple Estates. They were both active in the church community and made some wonderful friends through the church as well as in their condo complex. Dad moved to Elgin Lodge in 2014 and enjoyed the staff and fellow residents and many fun outings and activities. Mom and Dad both enjoyed travelling and were fortunate to see the majority of Canada, many places in the US as well as Africa, various parts of Europe, Germany, Ireland and the Holy Land.

A special thank you to the team of doctors and nurses at Saugeen Memorial Hospital for their care and kindness in Dad’s final days.

Friends and family will be received at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222 on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 525 Ivings Drive, Port Elgin.

Memorial donations to Faith Lutheran Church or Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
