Ernest Menage Obituary

Peacefully, in his 96th year, with family by his side on Friday, August 2nd, at Hilltop Manor in Cambridge. Ernie, beloved husband of the late Sheila (nee Pearce). Loving Dad of Neil and his wife Faye, Carolyn and her husband Larry, Elizabeth, Robert and his wife Elizabeth. Loving Grandad of Ellen (Rob), Angie (Andy), Doug (Krystal), Lindsay, Sarah, Matt and Fraser, Kristy, Alex, Nick, Chelsey and Jason. Great Grandad of Jayna, Brennan, Gracyn, Carly, Drew, Hudson, Laurel, Kieran, Annabelle and Gracelyn.

Ernie, a veteran of ‘WW2’ helped liberate Guernsey of the Channel Islands, was instrumental in the creation of the peace sign in 1958 and retired as an Ontario Hydro Shift Maintenance Manager at Bruce Nuclear Station ‘B’. 

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

A private family service has been entrusted to the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin.
