Russell Cecil Ball

Peacefully, on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, in his 79th year.  Russell will be sadly missed by his children Brinda Smits-Muth (Dave) of Port Elgin, Garry (Debbie Gaylor) of Hamilton, Deborah Ladd of Owen Sound, Katherine Schultz (Scott Yake) of Peterborough, and Teresa (Bruce Laurie) of Hamilton.  Cherished Grandfather of Norinda (Ryan) Coursol, Erin (Scott) Lawrenson, Sherry (Josef) Draper, Michael Ball, David Ball, Elisha (Mark) Phillips, Robin Ladd, Nira Schultz, Tegan (Jacob) Kielb, Kylie (Luke) Wood, Joshua Laurie, and Haley Laurie; and proud great grandfather to Michael, Nadia, Ryanna, Hayden, Violet, Ella, Reed , Claire, Logan, Mila, Sebastian, and Quinn .  Also survived by his partner and best friend Mary Jean Evers and their dog Max.  Dear brother of Verna Thede and Vera (Charlie Cassell), and brother-in-law of Edith Ball. Russell will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his children’s mother, Margaret Rose Ball, his parents Ernie and Iva Ball, and by his siblings Ken, Doris, George, Jack, Ronald, and Donald.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, December 6th, 2017 at 11:00am with Pastor Bob Johnston officiating.  Interment Southampton Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
