Aline Bellan Obituary

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 22, 2023, at the Southampton Care Centre, in her 97th year.

Beloved wife of the late Steve Bellan, and loving sister to Nora (Clifford) Teed-Belanger.  Loving mom to Gale (Garry) Walker,  Gary-deceased (Linda Leggo), Bob (Cheryl) Bellan, Lynne (Jim) McKinnon, Ken (Jeanette) Bellan, and Dave (Laurie) Bellan.  Proud grandmother (‘Nanny’) to Carrie Bellan and Chris Bellan, Michelle Walker, Tim (Nadine) Walker, Alison (Andrew) Dickson, Lee (Shelly) Bellan, Kahla (Bryan) Bellan, Stephanie (Claude) Gouin, Darryl (Jeni) McKinnon, Holly Bellan, Jesse Bellan, Colby (Cristina) Bellan and Cayly Aline (Chris) Hardie.   Loving aunt and ‘great’ grandmother to 18  great grandchildren.

In 1976, Steve and Aline moved from Deep River to Port Elgin as permanent residents. In her younger days, she played bridge 6 days a week, golfed at the Holiday Golf Club and later at Saugeen Golf Course.  She curled at the Deep River and Port Elgin Curling Clubs.  She was also very active with the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Branches in every town she lived in.

Thank you to all those that provided support and care in the later stages of her life, along with the Southampton Care Center where she received wonderful care.  Special thanks to Viktorya, Maryann, Carrie and Dale.

Cremation has taken place, a private family celebration of her life / mass and internment will be held on Mother’s Day weekend.

In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for a donation to the Port Elgin Legion Poppy Trust Fund or to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
