BELLAMY, David William
Peacefully, with family by his side, at the Southampton Care Centre on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in his 91st year. Dave, beloved husband of Agnes (nee Hill). Loving father of Tracy and his wife Sally, Tim and his wife Shelley, Colin Hill, and Lorinda Hill. Proud grandfather of Joanne, Jerrett (Jessica), Edward (Meghan), Martin, Jenessa (Brandon), Liam, Erilyn, Morgan, Connor, Zachary; and great grandfather of Cameron and Tessa.
David Bellamy led a full and active life during is 90 years. He was born in Naicam, Saskatchewan in 1930. At six years of age he moved to Cannington, Ontario with his parents and five sisters, in a 1926 Chevy. That journey perhaps sparked his passion for nice cars, car racing and his desire for travelling. He is probably best remembered for his musical ability on Saxophone and Clarinet. He started as a young man and played in various bands throughout Southern Ontario. Dave was well known for his sense of humour. He was often the life-of- the-party; entertaining with stories and witty one liners. He was a natural handyman who built one home and renovated several others. He was always the first to volunteer a helping hand to family and friends. Dave retired from Ontario Hydro in 1987 after 36 years with a career in Forestry and Marketing. After retirement Dave and Agnes travelled extensively throughout North America in their fifth-wheel . For 20 plus years they made their winter home in South Texas where Dave returned to his love of music and entertained at jam sessions and dances. His most endearing quality was his selfless love of family and his participation in all their endeavours.
Dave will be remembered at a private family service.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Southampton Care Centre Resident’s Council would be appreciated by the family.
