It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved father, son, uncle, nephew and friend Devon William James Burrows-Houston.
Although Devon, 33, was taken much too soon he will be remembered for his gentleness, kind hearted nature, for his passion of music and his love for those around him.
Devon left his mark on the world by never failing to beat to his own drum or as most would say “spew to his own raps.” He had this intriguing ability to express his emotions and thought through his lyrics, leaving many to not only hear them but feel them.
Devon embraced connections with others, forming undeniable bounds with both family and friends. He loved with no conditions and cared with no terms, but the love he had for his daughter went beyond words of description. The joy she brought to his life will leave an everlasting effect on his legacy.
He was a man of small stature, whose personality filled the shoes of a man five times his size. We are all better people for knowing him and can attest to the fact that one person can make an unimaginable difference in the life of another.
Devon will be missed by his daughter Eilis Armstrong and her mother Elizabeth Armstrong. Parents, Karla Burrows and Jamie& Leanne Houston. Siblings, David, Tammi-lynn, Danielle, Sheyla, Kerysa (Jonathon) Breyana and Chayse.Uncles and Aunts, Sean, Dean, Michael,Cheryl and Carolyn. Along with the families of lifelong friends, Glenn Antoine and Megan Gibbons.
Predeceased by grandparents Bill and Sally Burrow, Ted and Eva Guyer, and James and Betty Houston. Aunt Wendy and Uncles Brian and Blaine.
A celebration to commemorate his life will be held at a later date.
