Douglas Stephen Wood

Peacefully, at Saugeen Memorial Hospital, Southampton on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in his 69th year. Doug, loving husband of Christine (nee McNamara). Beloved Dad of Kate and her husband Mark St. Cyr, Stephen and his wife Cassie, and Elizabeth and her partner Ryan Leindecker. Proud Grampy of Tess, Elinor, and Raven. Dear brother of Carol and her husband Peter McAllister, Elizabeth and her husband Monty Kerr, Nancy and her husband David Roesler, Mary Stewart, Robert and his wife Kelly, Valerie and her husband Stephen Pottier, and Rick and his wife Valerie. 

Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Mae (nee St. Denis), and his brother Daniel (Nikki).  Doug will be fondly remembered by the McNamara family and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed immensely by his canine companion, Lorcan.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Port Elgin United Church, 840 Bruce Street, Port Elgin.
