Ralph Edward Sturgeon of Port Elgin passed away peacefully while residing at Southampton Care Centre March 27, 2022. He was 93 years old. Predeceased by his wife Isabel (nee Welden) in 2019. Predeceased by his parents, brother Lorne and sister Ida of Kitchener. He is survived by one daughter, Wendy Mary of Niagara and her family, three sons Michael Edward and family of Bracebridge, Peter Alexander and family of Erin, and Anthony Ralph and family of Hillbsurgh, all of Ontario.
Also survived by six grandchildren, Angela Smiley (nee Surgeon) and family of Orillia, Adam Sturgeon and family, of London, Kristopher Sturgeon and family of Bracebridge, Jamie Sturgeon and Family of Toronto, Sean Sturgeon and family of Toronto and Kayla Constance Sturgeon and family of Mississauga.
Survived also by seven great grandchildren Aubre Isabel, Ellowyn, Jamie, Sophie, Wesley, Cayden Rivers and Oda Aki, also by many nieces and nephews of the Kitchener Waterloo area.
Ralph was a career Serviceman serving 32 years in the CDN Armed Forces and served active duty with the United Nations Peacekeepers in the first Canadian deployment 1957 in Egypt. He retired from the CDN Forces in 1980 and was employed by a firm of Military Consultants for a number of years permanently retiring in 1987 due to failing health. He and his wife of over 69 years took up residence in Port Elgin where they had vacationed for many times. He was an avid fisherman and successful in derbies and contests. He also enjoyed volunteering with the local fish hatchery and club.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 1:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222.
