Wesley Walton Obituary

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 11, 2019 in his 88th year at the Southampton Hospital.

Wesley was born in Toronto on August 26, 1932 to the late Florence Pollard Walton and Robert Walton.  Loving Husband and Best friend to Vivien Walton of Port Elgin, Ontario.   Proud and caring father to Cory Walton of Southampton, the late Mark Walton of Toronto and step-father to  Jamie White (Jeanette) of Caledon East, Shelley MacDonald (Ross) of Port Elgin, Susan Balogh (Neil) of Stouffville.   Devoted Grandfather to Nicole (Sean), Jake (Pricilla), Stephanie, Matthew (Judy, Ethan), Alex (Tania, Mason), AJ (Terri-Lynn), Katie (Mark), Jessica (Liam, Wyatt), Rachel (Tyson), Joshua and Megan.

Wesley started his career with Bell Canada as an Electrician and Telephone Technician.  He moved to Port Elgin in 1969 and began working for Bruce Municipal Telephone where he retired from in 1992 at the age of 60.

Wes was a very talented wood worker and jack of all trades.  If anything needed fixing at anyone’s home Wes was always there to lend a hand or take over the job himself.  There wasn’t anything Wes couldn’t repair or do when he put his mind to it.  He was very meticulous and didn’t give up until the job was completed perfectly.   He was an excellent hockey player, always kept in shape and could outmatch anyone half his age.

Wes’s wife, Vivien and his family meant everything to him and you could tell by the way he was always there to help and do anything that was asked of him.  Wes was a very kind, patient and giving man who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Memorial Donations to the Southampton Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.

A celebration of Wes’s life for family and friends will take place sometime in the early spring.
