On your birthday I honour your memory and all that you are to me and my family. I am blessed beyond measure that you are my Mom and not a minute of the day passes where I don't think of you (and Dad) and am flooded by memories. You are by far the greatest person I have ever met, you have the purest and most loving heart, you are grace and kindness, you are strength and compassion, you were a light in this world of darkness. You are the most selfless person I have ever known, you gave to all and took nothing for yourself. You always travelled the high road and stayed true to who you are. I am and always have been proud of you and proud to be your daughter. I miss you Mom, I miss your voice, your guidance, your hugs, your laughter, your presence, your warmth and your love. I miss my kid's grandma, always ready with a hug, a lot of love and more cookies than one should eat. I miss my hubby's 'mom' always checking in to make sure he got to and from work okay and forever proud of his accomplishments. I just miss you. I just love you with the whole of my heart. I am forever proud and blessed to have been loved by you. Happy Birthday Mama. XO

I'll miss you and your kindness, and so will everyone else. You'd always be concerned for anyone, and everyone, but yourself. Loving and caring to everyone, the world would be a better place if there were more people like you. You've taught me a lot, and it was always fun to bake with you. I will forever love you, and so, I'm proud to call you my grandma. Love, your granddaughter, Olivia.

We are sorry to note the passing of Mrs Riepert. Although it has been quite awhile since seeing the Riepert family, we recall nice memories. It was always a pleasure to meet up with Diane, Lorne and family. Our condolences to all.

Just over twenty years ago was the first time I met Diane and Lorne. Lisa and I had recently began dating and we made the trip to Port Elgin from Guelph with a friend of ours, as we had no car. Wanting to make a good impression on her parents I wore a dress shirt and tie and bought flowers for Diane, yellow ones because Lisa had told me prior that yellow was her favourite colour. Lisa had always spoken so highly of her mom and dad, about how caring and generous and funny they were - and as a young man who didn't have the best of family lives, I was excited to meet them - but also incredibly nervous. I remember coming into their home and being received with a hug from Diane and her being very, very happy to receive the flowers. Lorne shook my hand and asked me where his beer was and then laughed. I immediately felt welcome and happy but was still very nervous. After a while sat down in the living room for tea. I remember during the conversation thinking Lorne was one of the funniest people on the planet and Diane being so sweet and kind. The love they had for each other was obvious and it warmed my heart. Despite all that I was still nervous. At the time of the visit I took my tea with milk and sugar. I reached for a spoonful to put into my cup and spilled it all over the coffee table. I felt like such an idiot. I think I closed my eyes for an eternity trying to think of what to say or do. When I opened them Diane said to me "Oh that's ok. Look, I spilled some as well!" and pointed to a small pile of sugar near her cup. The thing is, and I didn't know this until much later, Diane didn't take sugar in her tea.
That maternal gesture. That giving gesture. That sensing of despair and immediate providing of comfort meant and means the world to me. And while we shared the story of our first meeting many times over the years I hope and pray that Mom knows how important that moment is in my life.
Mom, I owe you more than I could ever hope to repay you. I have a beautiful wife and two incredible children thanks to you. And I know that while you are not with us in the physical world, your spirit is and always will be around us - and that brings me tremendous comfort and joy.
I love you mom.

Your son-in-law,

Gene

December 11, 2017 6:13 AM

Oh I'm in pieces, it's tearing me up, but I know
A heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved

So I'll sing Hallelujah
You were an angel in the shape of my mum
When I fell down you'd be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go
And when God takes you back we'll say Hallelujah
You're home

My Mom was absolutely everything to her family. She was loving, kind, warm, caring, gracious, the list goes on forever. She was perfect. I don't think my Mom ever realized how truly special she was to so many people. She was more about worrying for her family and those around her then taking the time to worry about herself. She loved with her whole heart her husband, her girls and her grandchildren. Being her daughter is the greatest blessing, I am forever proud to call her my Mom. Mom, I will love you forever and miss you always. I know you are with me, your love will never fade or diminish with time. Thank you for loving me, Gene, Logan and Olivia.

Love You
Lisa
